Study tip: ConducIA is the only driving-test platform whose syllabus already includes every sign below, complete with images, explanations, and exam-style practice questions updated to match the latest DGT regulations.
New warning signs (P-series)
These signs alert you to new hazards that didn't previously have dedicated signage:
Warns of a stretch with many driveways or side entrances where vehicles and farm machinery may enter or exit unexpectedly.
Warns you are approaching a zebra crossing. Replaces older, less specific signage.
Warns of an area where pedestrians frequently walk on or alongside the roadway.
A crossing shared side-by-side by pedestrians and cyclists.
Near hospitals, rehabilitation centres, or senior care facilities — vulnerable road users likely.
Specific warning of a cycle crossing near the road.
Warns of a stretch with frequent cycle traffic on or alongside the road.
Specific wildlife risk sign, especially relevant at dawn and dusk.
Short stretch where merging and exiting traffic flows cross paths, increasing collision risk.
New and updated entry prohibitions (R-series)
These regulate access for new vehicle types and environmental zones:
Updated pictogram now includes light quadricycles and vehicles for people with reduced mobility.
Updated design to clearly depict modern agricultural vehicles.
E-scooters and similar devices must not enter this area.
Combined prohibition blocking both bicycles and personal mobility vehicles.
Access depends on your vehicle's emissions label. Conditions are specified on a supplementary panel.
New mandatory signs (R-series)
Mandatory requirements for specific vehicle types and situations:
Special winter tyres or chains mandatory. Do not continue beyond this sign without them.
Designated route for agricultural tractors; others keep off unless signed otherwise.
Lane reserved and mandatory for personal mobility vehicles. Other vehicles are prohibited.
Lane reserved and mandatory for bicycles and personal mobility vehicles. Other vehicles are prohibited.
Mandatory for the section indicated on the supplementary panel.
New indication signs (S-series) — energy and services
Updated service signs reflecting the new energy landscape on Spanish roads:
Combined station providing conventional fuel and LPG (liquefied petroleum gas).
Specialized station exclusively providing LPG.
Hybrid station providing conventional fuel and EV charging.
Station exclusively providing EV charging — no conventional fuel.
Combined station providing conventional fuel, LPG, and EV charging all in one location.
New indication signs (S-series) — roads and infrastructure
Categorizes a conventional road with several lanes in one direction (not a motorway).
Three-lane road with an alternating overtaking lane that switches side every few kilometres.
Full-service facility with fuel, food, and restrooms accessed directly from the motorway.
Designated facility for caravans and motorhomes to empty grey/black water.
Designated area to park off the mainline when authorities activate restrictions for heavy snowfall or incidents.
Marks the start (S-43) or end (S-44) of a road designated for bicycles, personal mobility vehicles and pedestrians, with separated space for each group.
Indicates the location of a pedestrian crossing that is adjacent to or shared with a cycle crossing.
Marks the start (S-47) or end (S-48) of a shared-use area primarily for pedestrians. Vehicles max 20 km/h, pedestrians have priority across the full road, and cycles/PMVs may ride in both directions unless otherwise regulated.
Indicates a waiting area ahead of the stop line at a signal-controlled junction, reserved for motorcycles, mopeds, three-wheelers or bicycles.
One or more lanes reserved exclusively for high-occupancy vehicles. The sign shows the minimum number of occupants required.
A lane reserved exclusively for bicycles running alongside the main road. Other vehicles are prohibited from using it.
Signs that changed appearance
Several existing signs received visual updates to improve clarity and inclusivity:
Updated with a modern train icon for better clarity.
Enhanced graphics for clearer communication of gradient severity.
Redesigned with a more inclusive pictogram that better represents diverse children.
Redesigned to avoid confusion with debris or other hazards.
Retired signs and the new work-zone color rule
Signs that have been removed from the catalog must be physically taken down within 1 year of the regulation coming into force. You may still see them on roads during the transition.
A key visual change: work-zone signs now use a yellow background with black symbols instead of the usual white background with red borders. This makes temporary signage much more visible and clearly distinct from permanent infrastructure.
Left: traditional permanent sign (white background, red border). Right: new temporary work-zone sign (yellow background, black symbols). Both convey the same speed limit, but the yellow version signals a temporary restriction in an active construction area.
When do these signs appear in the theoretical exam?
The DGT confirmed that new sign content would not enter exams immediately, granting a minimum 3-month transition after 1 July 2025 to allow manual updates and student preparation. That grace period ended in October 2025, meaning these signs are now part of the active question bank.
